9/6/2006 I've movedFrom my previous post, I indicated I might be moving. I have finally decided to move to blogger. Here's my new blog.
Here's a review of the different blog platforms in case you are deciding what to do.
I made my decision before Helen Teixeira posted that but that's insightful and could be helpful. If you are a software guy, you should probably write your own like Lateef did. I was too lazy to do that but will eventually do it.
I might have a different post about the specific reasons why I left Spaces and decided to go somewhere else. 8/15/2006 2 decades... is the amount of time I have spent on this earth. I have some pondering to do. I am not sure if I should keep posting here or I should move to blogger or start a blog on my website that's blank. Will double post for a while. (And I have two blogger accounts. One with my Google account -beta - and one with the old blogger). Sigh. My other blogs: http://olaoluokelola.blogspot.com http://olaoluwa.blogspot.com/index.html 8/2/2006 Yahoo!Yahoo started an official company blog. You can check it out here. Did you know Yahoo was an acronym for something? It is short for "Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle". Wow. Didn't know that. Got it from the About page of the official company blog. 7/20/2006 Juve's loss is Real's gainIt was qute obvious that Real would be the team most likely to profit from the Italian scandal and Juve's demotion to Serie B. With Capello resigning from Juve and returning to Real, coupled with Real's almost deep pockets (not as deep as Chelski), it was only a matter of time before players went to join Capello in Spain. It seems Cannavaro and Emerson would be the first making the journey across. 7/17/2006 Materazzi's past exploits7/13/2006 More on Zidane ...See this article. Update: A global audience tuned in to see the great man's apotheosis, his elevation to god-like status. Instead we saw a crushing reminder of his mortality. From soccernet. 7/9/2006 Where I watched the world cup finalhttp://news.com.com/2061-10801_3-6092002.html?part=rss&tag=6092002&subj=news Pictures later. Update: Pictures can be found here. 7/8/2006 World Cup FinalThis is Zidane's last (competitive) match ever: the last time we'll ever see one of the all-time greats play a match with something at stake. And what better way to end your career than to end it on top, challenging for the World cup title. Before the beginning of this tournament, nobody gave the French team a chance. I wanted them to do well and thought they could do well but not this... This is also Henry's chance to finally deliver in a final. For all his greatness, he has never scored in a final. From Cardiff in 2001 (FA cup final) to Paris in 2006 (Champions League final), Henry has flattered to deceive on the big stage and it's time he proves his critics wrong and shows up to be counted in this game, there's no bigger final than the world cup final. [It's not like he hasn't shown up in big games: ask ManU, Inter, Real, Juve, Roma, Chelsea, ....; he's just failed to do it in a final and it's the final that counts, ask Zidane about '98, Ronaldo about '02, ...] The Italians are favorites to win it all tomorrow. They have the best gk in the world in Buffon, the best defense in the tournament (and the world) led by Cannavaro only conceding one goal so far to an own goal against the US and they have excellent players all over (Gattuso, Pirlo, Totti, Zambrotta, Camoranesi, etc.). Man for man, they are better than the French team and have a huge advantage in goal where Barthez is a calamity waiting to happen for the French. I want France to win and I think they can but it will come down to either one of thier two best offensive players: Zidane or Henry showing up and having a stellar game for them to win this one. The favorites have won 7 of the last 8 finals with the exception being the French over the Brazilians in Paris, I am betting on the French doing it over the Italians in Berlin (and maybe Henry to finally prove his critics wrong. One good thing is that he does like playing against the Italians from his torrid spell in Italy: ask Roma, Inter, Juventus; Cannavaro was there too). Italy v France |
